SB178 was packaged the way every other bill is packaged. It contains something that is "good" for all of us and then a bunch of amendments and add-ons that are designed to put leaders of the majority on the spot as voting against for campaign adds. If you know politics at all you know the game. The Nevada legislature is as divided as it ever has been numerically and ideologically so you are going to see this kind of thing will happen until there is a clear cut unobstructed majority. Do I think all of the amendments and add-ons were good, no, but they weren't bad enough to kill the entire bill before it got a vote. I think that vote security and making sure non-citizens do not vote is a no brainer but apparently democrats do not seem to think so.

You should read the entire blog to uncover my explanation, but I will save you time here. God, Family, and America is my credo. If you are right with God, and you take care of your family and help to preserve America, everything else will take care of itself and you will be able to contribute to the rest of humanity. I do not mean "to hell with everything else" when I say "Nothing else matters". "Nothing else matters" means nothing else matters until you have accomplished those three. Sort of like, you cannot help others until you help yourself. I hope that clears it up for you.

According to you, and according to other websites, SB178 has many aspects other than just immigrants voting. Therefore, there might be many reasons for democrats to vote against it. According to Janice Ayres, seniors would be impacted by the bill as well.

According to common sense, a bill that has too many unrelated provisions in it is poorly drafted. The fault for poorly drafting it falls on the drafters. You can only blame the Democrats for opposing the bill if you are willing to say that EVERYTHING in the bill is good and helpful. Not if ONE thing is good.

Are you willing to say that everything in SB178 was good?

I am curious about why the other 6 billion people on the planet "do not matter." Can you explain it to me please?

This blog is a good read. This is my first visit. I plan to return and share what I have found here. I would like to see this kind of thought prevail in Clark County so that the people would benefit rather than be subject to lopsided leadership in the legislature. The heavy hand of spending and mandates catering to the federal government with even larger spending and mandates burdens the individual.

Let us not forget to strive also for smaller government! Our founders came here seeking individual liberty as well as religious freedom and the hope of obtaining their own property. It is wonderful to be born an American but you are right that we have a responsibility to pass the blessing on and not hoard or squander these gifts as seems to be the tendancy today.

I think we have some reparations to make to those who wish to follow our walk. By reparations I refer to the blood, sweat and tears it takes to get it right and keep it that way.
